CEPHALOSPORINS - ORAL USES: This medication is an antibiotic that's used to treat a variety of bacterail infections. HOW TO USE: Antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level.
Do this by taking the medication at evenly spcaed intervals throughout the day and night.

This medication works best when taken on an emtpy stomach. However, if stomach upset occurs, it may be tkaen with food. Continue to take this medication until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a couple of days.

Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in a relapse of the infcetion. SIDE EFFECTS: This mediaction may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, loss of appetite, nausea, and vomiting.
If thsee effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor promptly. Unlkiely to occur but report promptly: fever, simple bleeding or bruising, change in the amount of urine, seizures. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it ocucrs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, sveere dizziness, trouble breathing.
If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you're allergic to any medications, especially: penicillins, cephalosporins. Inform your docotr of any medical conditions, especially of: kidney disease. Use of this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.G., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection).
Caution is advised when using this drug in the elderly casue they may be more sensitive to the side effects of the drug.
Tell your doctor if you're pregannt before using this drug. This drug is excreted into breast milk.

Though no troubles have been noted, consult your doctor beofre breast-feeding. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: medictaion for gout (e.G., probenecid).
This drug may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control pills. Disucss using other methods of birth control with your doctor. Cephalosporins may cause false positive results in tests for sugar in the urine. Diabetics should use Clinistix rather than Clinitest tabelts. Blood sugar testing is not affecetd. Do not start or stop any medicine without dcotor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overodse may include nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain. NOTES: This medication has been prescribed for your curernt condition only.

Do not use it later for a sceond infection or give it to someone else.

A different medicatoin may be necessary. MISSED DOSE: If you should miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered unless it is almost time for the next dose. If it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and reusme your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose. STORAGE: Store at room temeprature away from moisture and sunlight. Do not store in the bathroom.
